چکیده
Introducing ligand based hydrogen bond donors to increase the activity of a mononuclear Zn(II) complex for catalysing phosphate ester cleavage can be a more effective strategy than making the dinuclear analogue.

Synthesis of Zinc Dimethyldithiocarbamate by Reductive Disulfide Bond Cleavage of Tetramethylthiuram Disulfide in Presence of Zn2+
The zinc(II) complex [Zn2(dmdtc)2(μ-dmdtc)2] has been synthesized directly from thiram ligand, containing a disulfide bond {dmdtc = N,N-dimethyldithiocarbamate; thiram = N,N-tetramethylthiuram disulfide}, and characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic methods. Surprisingly thiram, undergoes a reductive disulfide bond scission upon reaction with Zn2+ in methanolic media to give the [Z...

متن کاملSynthesis and characterization of mono- and heterodinuclear complexes of dinucleating macrocyclic ligand bearing hexa- and pentadentate coordination sites
Macrocyclic heterobinuclear Zn(II)–Cu(II) complexes with phenol based dicompartmental ligands possessing contiguous hexa- and penta-coordination sites were prepared by a stepwise procedure. The ligands include similar N4O2 and dissimilar N(imine)3O2 and N(amine)3O2 coordination sites sharing two phenolic oxygen atoms. The six-coordination site comprises two pyridyl pendant arms on the amine nit...

The unsymmetrical dinucleating ligand 2-(N-isopropyl-N-((2-pyridyl)methyl)aminomethyl)-6-(N-(carboxylmethyl)-N-((2-pyridyl)methyl)aminomethyl)-4-methylphenol (IPCPMP or L) has been synthesized to model the active site environment of dinuclear metallohydrolases. It has been isolated as the hexafluorophosphate salt H(4)IPCPMP(PF(6))(2) x 2 H(2)O (H(4)L), which has been structurally characterized,...
متن کاملZn(II) Coordination by Open-chain Polyamine Ligands Containing Dipyridine Units. Highly Active Dinuclear Zn(II) Complexes in Phosphate Ester Hydrolysis
The synthesis and characterization of two new open-chain ligands, L1 and L2, containing two 2,2’-dipyridine units connected respectively by a pentaethylenhexamine and a pentapropylenhexamine chain, is reported. Zn(II) complexation has been studied by means of potentiometric and UV-vis spectrophotometric measurements in aqueous solution. Both ligands form stable monoand dinuclear complexes, the ...
